Acrylic Studio - Intermediate-Advanced

Open to students with a working knowledge of acrylics (Gretchen Hash-Heffner). New techniques will be introduced as students work on project of their choice. Supply list at ACA front desk.

Art for Beginners (2320)

If you have always wanted to try your hand at art classes, this is the perfect opportunity! Explore the basic foundations of drawing and painting with Sue McCarty. No previous art experience necessary. Supplies included.

Batik (2321)

Learn the ancient art of batiking by creating an original pattern or image with wax and adding color with dyes (Michelle Petty). Supplies included.

Clay

Learn the art of hand-building with clay while you make these fabulous projects (Michelle Petty). Choose from jugs or mugs- based on the unique Carolina face jug art form in Session I.

In Session II make a teapot or other vessel of your choice . Open to teens and adults. Price includes $5 for firing, glaze and clay. (Supplies included).

Clay - Hand-building & Wheel

Learn the skills needed to create pottery by hand-building and using the wheel (Myrna Spurrier). Wear old clothes and bring an old towel and a large shoe box. Class price includes $5 firing fee, glaze, and 25 pounds of clay.

Equine Art

If you don’t know when to bid or how much. If you don’t know a forcing bid, then you are not scoring well. These twelve weeks will help you gain confidence when the opponents get into the bidding.

Yoga

Aiken Youth Orchestras (9220)
Open to area youth, these orchestras provide students with at least one year of music training on their instrument with a quality orchestral experience (Joe Laorenza and Angela Shaw). Season concludes with the Winter Concert at the Arts Center.
Placement auditions are Jan. 10th.

Weekend Workshops

Basket Weaving - Nantucket

Learn the art of Nantucket basket weaving and complete a beautiful, functional basket with North Carolina artist Joni Dee Ross. Open to all levels, student will select their project from a variety of baskets. Bring your lunch, scissors or garden shears, ruler, pencil, and hand towel.

Annual Student Art Exhibition.

These pieces are for display only (not for sale) and will be returned to the artist at the end of the exhibition.
