Aiken Center for the Arts named Angel by South Carolina Secretary of State
On November 15, 2023, South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond announced the Angels of 2023. Twelve Angel charities were recognized, the Aiken Center for the Arts being one of them. The Angels honored are organizations that have positively impacted the well-being of South Carolinians and that have demonstrated good stewardship of charitable resources. To be selected as an Angel, the charity must have devoted 80% or more of its total expenditures to charitable programs. It is an honor for Aiken Center for the Arts to be included on the list of Angel organizations in SC.

Registration is open for Summer 2024 Art and Music Camp for Special Needs.

Offered at no cost to participating families, these camps are designed for those with traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, and/or other physical and developmental disabilities. Camps are designed to allow these individuals to have a successful, joyful art experience by providing an opportunity to participate in both visual arts and musical activities at their own level.

Camps are led by SC Arts Access master teacher, Keith Tolen who has extensive experience teaching art to those with disabilities. Our curriculum is designed with multi-disciplinary content that optimizes each student’s language, attention, memory, executive function and motor control functions.
